My vision of researching is to generate new knowledge by conducting high ranking and impactful research through the collaborative efforts. Fruitful collaborations are the key for sharing the knowledge, expertise and resources available locally and globally. My ultimate objective of researching is to help the national development and socio-economic development Synaptic plasticity, learning and memory. I have a diverse research interests mainly focussed on;

  • Anti-pain and anti-inflammatory effects of peripherally restricted kappa opioid receptor agonists
  • Clinical research: Spirocercosis in dog, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus in dog, Urine protein creatinine ratio in dog, Uropathogenic Escherichia coli in dog
  • Ehrlichia and Anaplasma spp. in dogs
  • SARS-like corona viruses in selected animal populations in Sri Lanka
  • Veterinary education: use of simulators in teaching and learning clinical skills, Curriculum pedagogy, communication of veterinary students, Canine Ophthalmic Cytology in ocular surface disorders
