WELCOME TO THE RABIES DIAGNOSTIC UNIT (RDU)
The Rabies Diagnostic Unit of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the University of Peradeniya was established in 2007 with material inputs from the Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition of Sri Lanka and Hokkaido University of Japan.
The unit provides laboratory services related to the diagnosis of rabies in domestic, farm and wild animals, and is involved in research and dissemination of information on rabies aiming at control and eradication of rabies in the country.
