VETERINARY MEDICAL EDUCATION UNIT

The primary role of the VMEU is to further promote professionalism and excellence in veterinary education through its' key functions:
Monitor and ensure proper implementation of the veterinary undergraduate curriculum in collaboration with the Academic Development and Planning Committee (ADPC-Vet) of the FVMAS (including but not limited to activities related to (i) teaching and assessment, (ii) timetabling, (iii) exam scheduling, and (iv) releasing of results of all courses including Prevet, Research Project, Integrated Veterinary Sciences and Externship/ Industrial Training).
Design and conduct suitable Teacher Evaluation, Course Evaluation and Examination Evaluation programs in liaison with the Faculty Quality Assurance Cell and/or suitable organization
Design and conduct carrier guidance services to students in liaison with the Carrier Guidance Center of the University of Peradeniya and/or suitable organization.
Design and coordinate Continuing Educational Programs/Continuing Professional Development Programs for academic and nonacademic staff members of the FVMAS in liaison with the Staff Development Center of the University of Peradeniya and/or suitable organization.
