To lay a solid foundation to the B.V.Sc. study programme of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science by providing superior academic programmes in Basic Veterinary Sciences; as well as to engage in high quality research and developmental activities through interdisciplinary collaboration.

To impart knowledge on the Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry of domestic species to veterinary undergraduates; and to develop lifelong learning and social skills in undergraduates necessary for subsequent years of the B.V.Sc. study programme as well as to graduate as competent and socially responsible professionals.
