One Health Poultry hub

One Health Poultry hub is an interdisciplinary hub working in Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. The Hub is led by the Royal Veterinary College funded by the Global Challenge Research Fund (GCRF) of the United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI). The main objective of the UKRI GCRF One Health Poultry Hub is promoting the sustainable global intensification of chicken meat and egg production whilst reducing risks to human and animal health and welfare, it will study the poultry production and distribution networks (PDNs) in each partner country with the aims of improving technology and human resources for the sustainable development of the industry. The project in Sri Lanka expects to identify problems faced by the local poultry industry as a stepping stone to facilitate policy development in order to increase the safety and quality of poultry meat and eggs for local and international markets while enhancing consumer acceptance for the products.
