Welcome to the Center for Aquatic Animal Disease Diagnosis & Research (CAADDR)

The CAADDR function as a national centre for the diagnosis (both routine and reference) of fresh water fish diseases.

The center was established in close proximity to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya under the Asian Development Bank funded Aquatic Resource Development Project (ARDQIP). National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the leading government agency for development and regulation of inland fisheries and aquaculture of Sri Lanka, has formed a partnership with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, to establish CAADDR considering the available facilities, expertise and the experience of veterinarians in animal health field as well as recognizing the veterinary involvement in aquatic animal health.
